Howard grew up in Spotswood, New Jersey. Shortly after high school he served in the Army for two years, where he was stationed in Korea and Japan. Howard met the love of his life, Louise and they married in 1958. They moved several times until they found their forever home in Longmont, where they raised their five children. Howard was an automotive mechanic. He enjoyed fishing and other outdoor activities, as well as spending time with family.
He is predeceased by his wife Louise M. Novak, his daughter Katherine Cheri Novak, his parents Stephen and Helen Novak, and his sisters Helen Willet and Theresa Bromley.
Howard is survived by his children Warren Novak, Barry Novak, Pamela Novak, Wendy (Richard) Miller and Elizabeth Jo Moon; his brother Steven Novak; his grandchildren Cassandra (Matthew) Smith and Sydney Miller; and his great-grandchild Darrow Smith.
A visitation for Howard will be held Thursday, April 13, 2023 from 10:30 AM to 11:30 AM at Westview Presbyterian Church, 1500 Hover Street, Longmont, Colorado 80501. A funeral service will occur Thursday, April 13, 2023 at 11:30 AM, at Westview Presbyterian Church. A reception will follow at the same location. A graveside committal will occur Thursday, April 13, 2023 at 1:00 PM at Longmont Mountain View Cemetery, 620 11th Avenue, Longmont, Colorado 80501.
