

James Clarence Eamon, a beloved husband, father, grandfather, and friend, passed away peacefully, surrounded by his family, on Sunday, September 15, 2024, at the age of 81. Born on July 23, 1943, Jim lived a life full of purpose, kindness, and generosity.
Jim grew up in Medicine Lake, Montana, where he was active both in sports and in community events. After high school, he attended the University of Chicago, where he graduated with a degree in physics. He worked for Lockheed Martin and Boeing before accepting a position with Kaman Sciences (later ITT), where he was a scientist and engineer for 40 years. He was proud of his work on groundbreaking technologies like missile defense and nuclear monitoring systems.
Jim and Gail, his wife of 57 years, settled in Colorado Springs, Colorado where they raised their children and lived for more than 50 years before relocating to Longmont, Colorado to be closer to family. His grandchildren were a source of immense pride for him, and he loved every opportunity to watch them play sports, join them for family dinners or share stories and wisdom with them. In his personal life, he was a mechanic, ham radio enthusiast, and children’s sports team coach.
Jim is survived by his wife, Gail, their children Michael and Dan, and his cherished grandchildren, Connor, Christopher, Camille, Jorgen and Benjamin. He is also survived by his siblings, Doug and Bill Eamon.
A celebration of life for James will be held Friday, September 27, 2024 at 1:00 PM at Howe Mortuary, 439 Coffman Street, Longmont, Colorado 80501, followed by a reception at 2:00 PM.
