Janet S. Reininger

Jan was born on April 25, 1943 in Denver, Colorado to Charles and Dorothy Anderson. She grew up in a small house behind Ruby Hill in Denver and was the eldest of three, having two younger brothers, Mike and Tom. She attended West High School in her senior year.

Jan married Richard Reininger, her high school sweetheart, on May 6, 1966. Rich enlisted in the Air Force shortly after their marriage and served for 8 years. After concluding his enlistment, Rich and Jan settled in the Denver area. After a few moves in the northern Denver-metro area, Jan and Rich moved to Berthoud, Colorado in 2013 to be closer to their grandchildren.

Her greatest joy was being a mother, grandmother and great-grandmother! She also enjoyed making porcelain dolls, crocheting and reading. She and Rich also enjoyed camping, spending time with family and friends, going on cruises and traveling in their motor home. Oh, and she loved her dogs and cats!

Jan is preceded in death by her son Scott Reininger, grandson Joshua Reininger and husband Richard.

She is survived by her son Todd Reininger, daughter Dorothy Kapaun, grandchildren Thomas Kapaun, Mikki Gonzales, Amber Reininger, Daniel Kapaun and great-grandchildren Addison and Charlotte Kapaun, Lily and Waylon Gonzales, Leo and Hailyn Reininger-Hilzer, Violet and Daisy Arguello. She is also survived by her brothers Michael and Thomas Anderson.

A celebration of life for Janet will be held Wednesday, September 6, 2023 at 4:00 PM at the Howe Mortuary Chapel, 439 Coffman Street, Longmont, Colorado 80501. Following the celebration of life will be a reception at 5:00 PM at the Howe Mortuary Reception Room, 439 Coffman Street, Longmont, Colorado 80501.
