Jean Ann Teets

Jean was born October 18, 1937, in Springfield, OH to George D and Ardis Jean Welch. Her sister Peggy was born 2 years later and Nancy 6 years after that.

Jean attended schools in Springfield, New Carlisle and Donnelsville, graduating from Tecumseh High School in 1955. In 1956 she married her high school sweetheart Lynn Mark Teets who, upon proposing said, “Before you answer we’re moving to Colorado.”

After packing their belongings, they moved to Pueblo, then Greeley where their first child, Glenn, was born. They moved to Louisville, CO and welcome their daughter Jenean, then found a permanent home on Cherryvale Rd. overlooking beautiful Boulder Valley. After Lynns retirement they moved to Niwot, CO.

Jean and Lynn were founding members of Boulder Valley Christian Church. She taught Sunday school classes of various ages.

After her children were established in elementary school, she attended the University of Colorado and acquired a teaching certificate for teaching in private pre-school and kindergarten. She taught in various schools for several years. She especially enjoyed working at Buttonwood Ranch with Peggy Cash.

Jean had a heart for newcomers in the community or the church and would invite them over for lunch after church or an evening meal. She was a great hostess and loved to throw parties, especially at Christmas. She enjoyed taking food to friends or little gifts that made her think of them, and they might enjoy. Cross stitch on tea towels, yard work, gardening, canning, playing cards and flower arranging were some of her hobbies.

She is preceded in death by her parents, her husband Lynn, her sister Peggy Dunlap and various family and friends.

Jean is survived by her son Glenn Teets (Lois), her daughter Jenean Schuetz (Ken), her sister Nancy Gregory, Ohio and four grandchildren, Elise and Essie of Roggen CO, Jolissa Lucero (Jon) of Longmont, CO and James Schuetz of Aurora, Colorado. Three great grandchildren, Madelyn, Abraham and Elijah.

A visitation for Jean will be held Monday, December 2, 2024 from 1:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. at Howe Mortuary & Crematory, 439 Coffman Street, Longmont, Colorado 80501. A graveside committal service will be held on Tuesday, December 3, 2024 at 11:00 AM at Green Mountain Cemetery, 290 20th Street, Boulder, Colorado 80302.
