

A celebration of life will be held at 11:00 am, Saturday, November 3 at Rocky Mountain Christian Church, 5860 Majestic Street, Frederick, Colorado, 80504, Tom Moyer will be officiating. Lunch to follow. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to SHINE, c/o Rocky Mountain Christian Church at the address above. Those wishing to sign Jerry’s guestbook may do so at the service.
Jerry was born March, 14, 1949 in Sapulpa, Oklahoma to Melvin and Mary (McCreary) Thompson. He graduated from Enid High School in 1968 and from Phillips University in 1973. On October 10, 1987 he married the former Linda Forbis in Oklahoma City. Jerry was employed as a General Manager with Red Lobster Restaurants for 26 years before retiring and moving to Colorado in 2011. During his tenure with Red Lobster, he won many awards including the highest achievement, a Diamond Club Member. He enjoyed fishing, gardening and cooking and was awesome in all three. He also enjoyed spending time attending grandchildren’s sports events, attended functions at the Carbon Valley Senior Center and went to church every Sunday at Rocky Mountain Christian Church.
Jerry is survived by his wife, Linda Thompson; two daughters, Angel (Don) Balenti of Bristow, OK and Emmy (Andrew) Hackler of Tulsa, OK; two step-daughters, Cathy Ho of Moore, OK and Cheryl Conover of Dacono, CO; a brother, Duaine (Iliana) Thompson of Dumfries, VA, two sisters, Sharon (Monty) Bacher of Stillwater, OK and Pam (Danny) Zelnicek of Enid, OK; nine grandchildren, two great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, Melvin and Mary, and a step-daughter, Christy Luketich in 2008.
