

John T. ""Ted"" Yarbrough, of Longmont, Colorado, died Thursday, January 25, 2007 at Life Care Center of Longmont. He was 84 years old.Ted was born November 7, 1922 in Kelso, Arkansas, to James Elisha and Frances (Scott) Yarbrough. As a young man, Ted worked with the Civilian Conservation Corps on projects in the Northwest. He went to work for Boeing in Seattle working on the B-17 Flying Fortress. He later joined the United States Navy during WWII and served in the South Pacific and New Guinea with the Navy Seabees.After his honorable discharge in 1945, he returned to the States and began his career as an electrician. He became an electrical contractor, operating Yarbrough Electric for nearly 40 years. On July 31, 1942, Ted married Eileen Virginia Kemmitt in Seattle, Washington. The couple made their home in California. They moved to Longmont in 2005.He was a member of the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers for over 50 years. Ted enjoyed family and fishing.Mr. Yarbrough is survived by his wife, Eileen Yarbrough of Longmont; two sons, John Gary Yarbrough and his wife, Beth Hamby, of Redlands, California, and Donald Dennis Yarbrough and his wife, Peggy, of Loveland, Colorado; five grandchildren and eight great grandchildren.He was preceded in death by his parents, and a daughter, Virginia Ann Yarbrough.Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, January 27, 2007 at Howe Mortuary, Longmont. Pastor John Zisch will officiate.
