

He was born December 8, 1934 in Las Vegas, NM, the son of Juan Lucardo and Emerencia (Gonzales) Sandoval. He joined the U.S. Army in 1958, spending time in Germany.
On May 23, 1970 he married Mary Anne Herrera in Longmont.
Jose worked as the head farm hand for John and Henry Sauer in Johnstown, CO from 1963-1972, and then worked for Longmont Sugar Beet Company for 2 years before expanding his freelance landscaping business. All of that experience led him to becoming a foundation form setter in the home building industry with Skrbina Construction and Concrete. With his motivation, high standards and work ethic he then began his career as a highly regarded craftsman and became a heavy equipment operator for Cornerstone Homes until his retirement.
He was an avid artist and painter and enjoyed leather and modeling crafts.
He is survived by his wife Mary Anne Sandoval, two daughters Alissa Sandoval and Anne Marie Pineda, 3 grandchildren Alexandra Pineda, Samantha Pineda and Joseph Pineda and 6 great grandchildren. He is further survived by two brothers Joseph Pineda of Albuquerque, NM and Daniel Pineda of Longmont.
He was preceded in death by his parents Juan Lucardo Sandoval and Mercedes Sandoval-Pineda- Maldonado and his brother Leo Sandoval.
Visitation will be held on Tuesday, May 1, 2012 from 2:00 to 5:00 p.m. with a Prayer Vigil at 4:00 p.m. at the Howe Mortuary in Longmont. Service will conclude at the Mortuary.
