Katherine Sophie Koolstra, age 76, of Longmont, CO died on July 27, 2016 at The Peaks Care Center. She was born August 29, 1939 to Miner and Frieda Koolstra of MN. Katherine attended elementary and high school in Fisher, MN. She worked in the restaurant business in Grand Forks, ND, Minneapolis, and San Bruno, CA where she also did home cleaning. Katherine had a keen interest and knowledge of the entertainment field, especially movies and Country and Western music. She is survived by her brother-in-law, Michael Holdaway; nephew Jonathon Gruneich and his wife, Mariana and sons Isaac and Brendan of Prescott AZ; nephew Jeffrey Gruneich, and his wife, Xiaoyan Qin, and sons, Jacob, and Benjamin of Wellesley, MA; and numerous cousins. Her father and mother, Miner and Frieda Koolstra, who lived near Fisher, MN, and her sister Angeline Holdaway, of Longmont, preceded Katherine in death.

A celebration of Katherine’s life will be held at 11:00 AM on Saturday, September 10 at Howe Mortuary, 439 Coffman St., Longmont, CO.
