Kathryn Kathy A. Anderson passed away suddenly, May 9, 2014 at her home. She was 70 years old.Kathy was born on May 28, 1943 in Virginia, MN to Eugene and Sophia (Lempia) Hoffer. She grew up in Embarrass, MN and graduated from Embarrass High School in 1961. She attended Virginia Junior College and received her certificate in bookkeeping from the Minnesota School of Business. On June 20, 1964 she married Richard M. Anderson in Embarrass, MN. The road of life would take Kathryn and Richard to Danville, KY, Evansville, IN and St. Joseph, MI, before moving to Longmont, CO in 2003.Kathy's passions included her family, reading, and accounting. As a wife and mother, she dedicated her life to her family, filling the home with love, laughter and kindness. She delighted in the endeavors of both her husband, and her daughter, Kathryn Kitty.Kathy's passion for accounting was evident throughout her working career. She was an accountant from 1967 to 2011 working for a variety of employers, including hospitals, chambers of commerce, a farming cooperative, and finally as a self-employed consultant. As an avid reader, Kathy was known for reading more than five books at any given time. Through her passion for reading Kathy lived both a life of enjoyment and learning.Kathy was preceded in death by her parents; and her three brothers Eugene, Keith and Jon Hoffer.She is survived by her husband Richard of Longmont; her daughter, son-in-law, Daniel, and her grandchildren Luka and Ella of West Hartford, CT. The family has requested that memorial contributions in Kathy's name be made to the St. Jude's Children's Hospital. Cremation entrusted to Ahlberg Funeral Chapel and Crematory.
