Kelly Ann Soder-Blackman

Kelly Ann Soder-Blackman passed away at her home on June 3, 2013. She was 44 years old.Kelly was born on September 25, 1968 at the Sewart AFB in Smyrna, TN to John and Catherine (Drohan) Soder. She was raised in an Air Force family, and spent the first five years of her life living in Europe. Kelly graduated from Stevens High School in Rapid City, SD; completed her undergraduate degree at Weber State University in Ogden, UT; and graduated from the University of Nebraska Medical Center Dental College in Lincoln, NE with her DDS in 2006.On May 25, 1990 she married Brian Blackman at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Rapid City, SD. Together they moved to Longmont from Lincoln, NE in 2007. Kelly worked as a general dentist and was a partner in the Longmont Comfort Dental office until she retired in 2011. She was of the Catholic faith and a member of St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Church in Longmont. Kelly also belonged to the Niwot Rotary club, helped out at Niwot Elementary school, and with the Girl Scouts of America.She enjoyed traveling, reading, snorkeling, sea kayaking, beaches, and hiking.Kelly was preceded in death by her mother Catherine Soder.She is survived by her husband Brian Blackman; her sons Trevor and Declan Blackman; her paternal daughter Elcie Blackman; her step-daughter Erica Blackman and family; her father John Soder; her brother Sean Soder his wife Rachel and their family; her sisters Shirley Thompson and her husband Tom and Susan McNulty and her husband Sean and both of their families; and several Aunts, Uncles, and Cousins living in Ireland and California.A memorial Mass will be held at 11:00 AM Saturday June 8, 2013 at St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Church in Longmont.
