Kenneth William Drager

Kenneth W Drager, 87, died on May 29, 2022 in Loveland, CO. Ken was born on April 20, 1935 in Burlington, CO. to Henry and Flora (Klooz) Drager. The third of four children, he grew up on a farm 17 miles south of Burlington and graduated from Burlington High School in 1953.

Ken married his high school sweetheart Doris F. Chapman in September 1954 and shortly after they moved to Longmont, CO where Ken started a career as a carpenter and home contractor. Ken built many custom homes in the Longmont area, and later in his hometown of Burlington and Russell, KS. They returned to Longmont in 1986 where Ken continued to build houses until the early 2000s.

During their years in Longmont, Ken was active in the Jaycees, Elks Club, and Moose Lodge. He and Doris also belonged to the M&M Dinner/Dance Club. For many years Ken sponsored a fast-pitch softball team, Drager Homes. After retiring Ken worked extensively in his woodworking shop on numerous projects. Ken was a loving and supportive husband and father. As his wife’s health deteriorated, he took care of her with undeterred devotion.

At the time of his death,Ken was survived by his wife Doris; (She has since passed).Children Pam (George), Jeff (Paula), and Kirk (Becky); grandchildren Candy, Dawn, Hannah, and Emmett and four great-grandchildren. He is also survived by his sisters Evelyn and June. He was preceded in death by his parents, his brother Louis, and his infant son Barry.
