Kim was born March 2, 1961, in Hastings, Nebraska, to Clark and Mary Beavers (McGhie). She was baptized in Omaha and blessed to have had close ties with her grandparents in Edgar, NE. As the first of four children, Kim moved with her family to Longmont, Colorado, in March 1966, where she grew up outside of town in the country. She graduated from Longmont High School in 1979 and lived in Longmont throughout her life.
Kim will be remembered for her green thumb; her garden was her happy place. She loved motorcycle rides, which she called her “wind therapy,” watching her Denver Broncos, and had an incredible work ethic. She was a great cook, known for her homemade chicken noodle soup, Thanksgiving gravy, and apple pie.
Kim is survived by her mother, Mary; her son, Nicholas Engard; sister Kathy Amen (Bill); brothers Rod Beavers (Crystal) and Ryan Beavers; four nieces and four nephews; and her partner, Jeff Jonas and family. So many relatives and friends will miss her - lots!
She was preceded in death by her father and her daughter, Chelsea Engard.
The family will hold a private memorial service this summer.
