Lawrence “Larry” Mari was born on June 10, 1942, in Sterling, Colorado, to Martin Mari and Catherine (Hershfeldt) Mari. He was born and raised on farms in Colorado, where he developed a strong work ethic and a lifelong appreciation for hard work and family.
Larry attended Merino High School and went on to become a union electrician. He was a proud lifetime member of the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers (IBEW) Local 68, where he worked for 39 years before retiring in 2004.
On June 22, 1963, Larry married the love of his life, Darlene Mari, in Longmont, Colorado. The couple made Longmont their home, where they raised their family and shared many happy years together.
A true follower of Christ, Larry was a devoted Christian who attended Lifebridge Christian Church for many years. His faith guided his life and inspired his service to others. He volunteered for numerous nonprofit organizations in his community and often offered his electrical skills to Christian ministries and camps through the MMAP (Mobile Missionary Assistance Program). His generous spirit and willingness to help others touched countless lives.
Larry enjoyed traveling in his RV, exploring new places, and especially loved trips through the mountains.
He is survived by his beloved wife, Darlene Mari of Berthoud, CO; sons Michael Mari (wife Mindi) of Berthoud, CO, and Christopher Mari (wife Linda) of Athol, ID; sisters Linda Schaefer (husband Ron) of Mead, CO, and Karen Giese of Bailey, CO; grandchildren Hayden Mari of Boise, ID, Weston Mari of Athol, ID, Corbin Mari of Post Falls, ID, Bryson Mari of Ft Worth, TX, and Naomi Gliva (husband Sam) of Westminster, CO; and great-grandchildren Declan Gliva and Charlotte Gliva of Westminster, CO. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
Larry was preceded in death by his parents, Martin (1997) and Catherine (2005); and his brother, Bill Mari (2004).
A Celebration of Life will be held at Ahlberg Funeral Chapel, 326 Terry St., Longmont, CO, 80501, on November 10, 2025, from 2:00 pm to 4:30 pm. Memorial contributions may be made to a Parkinson’s organization of your choice.
