Cherishing a Life Well-Loved
Celebrating Lee Wateman Cole
It’s hard to put into words just how much Lee Wateman Cole meant to those lucky enough to share life with him. When Lee passed away on January 29, 2026, in Colorado, his family and friends lost not only a loving husband, father, son, and brother, but also a true friend whose laughter, kindness, and adventurous spirit made every day brighter.
A Life Filled with Adventure and Joy
For Lee, every day was an opportunity. He poured his heart into building homes for his family in California, making each one a place of warmth and togetherness. He found joy in simple pleasures, like pedaling his road bike along the Pacific Coast Highway, feeling the wind and taking in the beauty of the world around him. Lee’s stories of those rides—sometimes shared around the dinner table, sometimes on long walks—reminded us all to chase the things that make us feel alive.
A Loving Family Man
Lee’s devotion to his wife, Keri Irene Cole, was unwavering; theirs was a partnership built on mutual respect and gentle humor. As a father to Shelli, Daniel, and Ron, Lee was their biggest cheerleader, always ready with encouragement, advice, or simply a hug when needed. He valued family above all and worked hard to make sure everyone knew how deeply they were loved. His role as son and brother was just as important—Lee was often the one to keep in touch, to organize a gathering, or to pick up the phone simply to say hello.
Fond Memories
Those who spent time with Lee remember his warmth and generosity. He was quick to lend a hand, share a laugh, or offer thoughtful words. Lee’s legacy lives on in countless memories: the spontaneous road trips, the backyard barbecues, and the quiet evenings spent together. We’ll carry his spirit with us each time we gather, share stories, or celebrate life’s small victories—just as Lee would have wanted.
Lee, thank you for filling our lives with so much love, joy, and inspiration. You will always be a part of us.
