Leonard Meservey

Leonard Meservey Utz, 73, of Longmont, died June 20, 2010 at Life Care Center of Longmont.He was born July 5, 1936 in Mineola, New York the only child of Albert John and Almena (Meservey) Utz. He graduated from Port Washington NY high school, Amherst College and Harvard Business School. He spent his career in retailing working for Sabley Lindsay and Carr in Rochester, NY, Lord and Taylor in New York City and Neiman Marcus in Dallas, TX, retiring from Neiman Marcus as a Senior Vice President of Stores.Leonard was a member of First Congregational United Church of Christ in Longmont. He loved fishing, golf, photography, walking and swimming. He was much beloved by everyone who knew him, especially people who worked with him. He is survived by his wife of 51 years Sandra (Solly) Utz, son David (Leanne) of Tahoe City, CA, daughter Deborah (Pat) Ryan of Longmont and 2 grandsons Shane and Connor Ryan.Cremation has been entrusted to Howe Mortuary and Cremation Service.Memorial services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, June 29, 2010 at First Congregational United Church of Christ with Reverend Rick King officiating.Contributions may be made to the Life Care Center of Longmont of to Agape Hospice for all the love and support that gave to Leonard.
