Linda Jeanne McCoy

March 28, 1958 – July 28, 2023

Linda Jeanne McCoy, 65, of Frederick, CO, passed away suddenly and unexpectedly on July 28, 2023. Linda was born in Denver, CO, and was raised by her mother and father, Carole J. Soucie and Allan K. Soucie. She grew up in Arvada, CO and went to Arvada Sr. High School. Linda had several close friends and enjoyed hanging out with her aunt and cousins who were all similar in age. Linda married shortly after graduating high school and had two beautiful children, Chrissie and Matt Fitzhugh. While that marriage only lasted a few years, she soon met the love of her life Rick McCoy. Linda and Rick moved to the mountains to build a life together. They enjoyed entertaining friends and camping. In 1988, Rick and Linda welcomed their beautiful daughter Stephanie and completed their family of five. Linda worked with the Eagle County School District for many years, so she was able to be off with her children when they were out of school and on break. Linda worked in the school kitchen, which was a perfect fit for her as she loved to cook. When Rick tragically passed away in 2021, Linda packed up her life in Gypsum, CO and moved in with her youngest daughter Stephanie in Frederick, CO. She began working at a Senior Center nearby, which was such a great fit for her as she loved talking to all the seniors and planning parties. Linda loved many things, entertaining (fondue parties), camping, cooking, animals (especially dogs and cats), plants, flowers, music, hummingbirds, gnomes, creating her Zen place, diamond dots but mostly just being around friends and family. Linda is preceded in death by her sister Theresa Capra, husband Rick McCoy and Father Allan Soucie. She is survived by her daughter Chrissie Hall, son Matt Fitzhugh, daughter Stephanie Overbey (Aaron), grandchildren Lilly Hall, Dexter Overbey, Daegan Overbey, mother Carole Soucie, sister Kimberlee Soucie (Mike Rossi), several aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, nephews and her beloved dog Lady Bug and her cats Bug and Sissy.

A celebration of life will be held at Discovery Park, 3701 Johnson Street, Wheat Ridge, CO 80033, on Saturday, August 19, 2023, from 12p.m. – 3p.m. This event will be open to the public and anyone that would like to join us in celebrating Linda can attend.
