

Marian E. Bennett, 81, of Longmont passed away Saturday, April 9, 2016 at Longmont United Hospital.She was born October 23, 1934 in Dallas, Texas to William Allison and Laura (King) Rawlings. Marian moved with her family to Tulia, TX and there graduated from high school. She earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in business administration from Texas Tech University.On May 3, 1958 in Tulia Marian married Paul D. Bennett. They moved to Longmont, CO in 1969 from Vandenberg Air Force Base after Paul retired from his career with the United States Air Force.Marian was a loving wife, mother and homemaker. She did work outside the home on several occasions. One job that gave her great satisfaction was being the receptionist for Dr. Brenda Shelton's chiropractic practice.Marian was well known throughout Northern Colorado for her remarkable talent as an actress. Over the years she had in excess of 100 productions to her credit with many theater companies including the Potpourri Players in her early days in Longmont, the Longmont Theater Company, Boulder Dinner Theater, Carousel Theater in Fort Collins and the Dickens Opera House in Longmont to name a few. Her sly but delightful smile was always present. There was never a part too large or too small for Marian. She will long be remembered for the wonderful hours of entertainment she provided to many. Marian assisted many young film makers at the University of Colorado by performing in their movie productions. She was even courted by Hollywood, but declined because she would have had to join the screen actors guild, and Marian was not a union lady.Marian was a member of P.E.O. Chapter GH, the Red Hat Society and three different marathon bridge clubs.She was preceded in death by her parents and husband Paul on February 4, 2007.Marian is survived by her son David A. Bennett (Melanie) of Bothell, WA, daughter Naomi Miller (Joseph) of Denver, grandchildren Phillip Kelsay (Jennifer), Paltiel Kelsay (Anne), Caitlin Bennett and Rhianna Bennett, and great grandchildren Ally, Jeremiah, Samantha, Aiden and Daykota.You are cordially invited to attend Marian's Grand Final Performance.
