Mark was born in Longmont, CO to Orville and Donna Sadar, both of whom preceded him in death. He grew up on a dairy farm in Hygiene, CO, where he developed a strong work ethic and a deep appreciation for life’s simple pleasures. As a young boy, Mark was quiet and thoughtful, and he cherished time spent with his family and especially fishing and camping together, creating memories that stayed with him throughout his life. He enjoyed playing baseball in his youth and had a lifelong love for music, playing both the guitar and harmonica.
Mark graduated from high school in “1973” and went on to complete two years of college. Mark loved his career as a power lineman for the City of Longmont, where he faithfully served from “1976” to “2013”, retiring after 37 years of dedicated work.
On July 10th, “1976”, Mark married Debra Sweney in Longmont, CO they built a life centered on love and family. He is survived by his wife, Debra Diane Sadar, his daughter Amy Jo Sadar, and his son Matthew Alan Sadar (Brittany). He was a loving grandfather to his six grandchildren; Zachary Bolte, Jackson Bolte, Sawyer Bolte, Chloe Sadar, Cora Sadar, Calia Sadar who loved spending time with “Bocky and Granny”.
Mark is also survived by his sisters, Lori Hood (Ken Hood) and Jana Godfrey (Craig Godfrey), as well as many extended family members who will carry his memory forward.
Throughout his life, Mark found great joy in fishing, traveling to Mexico and helping his father and mother out at their homestead in Hygiene. He and Debra had the experience of a lifetime when they purchased a condo in Mexico on the beach in ”2018” where they hosted many friends and family members. For 4.5 years they were able to live (4) months out of the year in their beautiful beach condo, before he became unable to travel. Mark especially treasured the times his son joined him in Mexico for fly fishing adventures both on excursions and right in front of their oceanfront Condo. He also spent many cherished summer days fishing at the family’s private lake in Hygiene with Matthew, Brittany and the three granddaughters. Annual trips to Estes Park and Grand Lake with Amy and his three grandsons were another highlight of his life. Mark also deeply valued time spent fishing with his mother, father and sisters at their cabin on the Missouri River in Montana.
Mark will be remembered as a kind, loving, and devoted man. As a father, he was deeply caring and supportive of both Amy and Matthew, always present for his family.
Mark and Debra had a very close loving marriage, and they would have celebrated their 50th year anniversary this coming July.
The family would like to extend their heartfelt gratitude to Tania Estupinan and Jodee Hollen, who were not only his caregivers helping Debra but also close friends, for their compassion, dedication, and loving care.
He was a member of Grace Bible Church in Longmont, CO, where he found faith and community.
His gentle nature, quiet strength, and sincere heart touched the lives of all who knew him. Mark leaves behind a legacy of kindness, hard work, and cherished memories that will live on in the hearts of all.
