Mary Ann was one of three children born to Edward and Ann. Shortly after graduating high school, she married Charles “Gus” Tilleman on January 28, 1956. They were married for 65 years before his passing in April 2021. In 1978, they decided to move to Longmont.
Mary Ann held a number of interesting jobs over the years, from interior design to airport security. But the one she was the most proud of was working as the head of accounts payable/receivable for Pinetree Peripherals with her family here in Longmont. She volunteered with The Boy Scouts and Girl Scouts of America when her children were younger. Mary Ann also enjoyed dancing – she and her husband had been long time members of the M&M dance club.
At home, she loved taking care of her rose garden. There was a time she had over 30 different types of roses growing and thriving. She was an avid knitter for most of her life and completed masterful cross stitch projects for her family. With that same attention to detail, she would put many hours of love into creating a miniature doll home with working lights. Mary Ann also loved history and traveling.
Mary Ann was preceded in death by her husband Charles; her parents Edward and Ann Piech; her brothers Edward and George Piech, and her grandson Jorge Vannatta. She is survived by her children Donald James Tilleman of Longmont, CO, Mark Steven Tilleman of Berthoud, CO, Anthony John Tilleman of Longmont, CO, Michele Ann Lucy of Longmont, CO, and Jeanne-Marie Oliver of Missouri. She is also survived by her grandchildren Madalynn Stearns and her husband Eric, Jake Tilleman and his wife Fanny, Rosemary Vannatta, Jennifer Vannatta, Daniela Vannatta, Megan Tilleman, Timony Ramos and her husband Carlos, Alex Schuerman; her great grandchildren Conner Stearns, Elaina Stearns, Victor Tilleman, and Amber Tilleman.
A Memorial Service for Mary Ann will be held Friday February 2, 2024 from 5:00PM to 7:00PM at the Tilleman home located at 1251 Winslow Circle, Longmont, CO 80504. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Crazy Horse Memorial Foundation at https://donate.crazyhorsememorial.org/
