

Mary Ann Davis of Longmont, died March 31, 2015 at Longmont United hospital following a lengthy illness. Mary Ann was born July 7, 1935 in Roosevelt, Oklahoma to Angelo Trotter and Flossie Godfrey Trotter. She was the older of two children. The family lived in Oklahoma, California and Arizona before settling in Colorado. While attending Longmont High School she had professional vocal training and performed on the KLMO radio station regularly. She also worked at the Trojan Theater. She graduated from LHS in 1953.
She married Daryl Ray Davis on April 23, 1955 and would have celebrated their 60th wedding anniversary this coming week.
Mary Ann worked a number of bookkeeping jobs over the years which included Johnson's Corner and The Longmont Elk's Club, along with jobs at several local banks. She and Daryl were in a Couple's Bowling League for many years where she served as secretary. She was also part of a local Bridge Club. Mary Ann displayed her vocal talents performing with the Potpourri Players Theater Group, the Elks Club Chorus and local weddings.
Mary Ann was an artist, seamstress, crafter, and gardener. She also devoted many hours to helping on the family farm and helped both children through ten years of 4-H projects, fairs and activities.
Surviving are her husband, Daryl; her 100 year-old mother, Flossie Trotter, and her brother, David, all of Longmont. She is also survived by two children: Dee Ann Johnson (Jeff) of Monument, and her son, Bryan of Longmont. Grandchildren and great-grandchildren include: Melissa Sheldrake (Jeremy) and their son, Jude living in Albuquerque; Arianne Johnson-Quinn (Iain) and their children Evan and Emily living in Princeton, New Jersey; Bradley Johnson and Michaela Johnson both living in Monument; and Jaime Davis and Hannah Davis, both living in Longmont.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Friday, April 10th at the Howe Mortuary Chapel, 439 Coffman St., Longmont, CO. 80501. Interment will follow at the Longmont Mountain View Cemetery.
