Mary Elizabeth Gonzales

Mary Gonzales, 66, of Longmont, died January 10, 2012 at Longmont United Hospital.

Mary was born January 6, 1946 in Lawrence, Nebraska, the daughter of Robert and Jeannie (Taylor) Venhaus. She grew up in Pueblo, Colorado where she graduated from Central High School in 1964. While in high school she worked as a waitress. After graduation she moved to Arizona before moving on to Kansas where she gave birth to her daughter Shelly. She then moved back to Colorado where she met and married her husband Jose Gonzales.

Mary enjoyed being out doors. She liked to fish and loved to travel with her family during vacations that took them all over the western United States. She also enjoyed playing poker with her friends as well as on the computer. She loved the time she could spend with her family, especially her great grandchildren, who were the light of her life.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Jose Gonzales in 1989 and her significant other Frank DeVaul in 2006. She is survived by her daughter Shelly Lee Osborne, her grandchildren and great grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held at 3:00 p.m. on Friday, January 13, 2012 at the Howe Mortuary Chapel. Burial will be on Monday, January 16, at 11:00 a.m. at Longmont Mountain View Cemetery.
