Mary Alice Rieder

Mary Alice Rieder of Erie, died March 4, 2008 at Longmont United Hospital. She was 77.Mary Alice was born on July 4, 1930 in Newark, NJ to Hesser G. McBride, M.D. and Alice Hooley McBride. She grew up in New Jersey, moving to Colorado in 1959.Mary Alice married Laurence Rieder on November 26, 1960 in Denver.The Rieder's have farmed in the Erie area for the past 50 plus years. She was a farmer's wife, mother and grandmother first and foremost. She loved cooking and was found entertaining her family and friends on a weekly, if not daily basis. A loving matriarch she made room for all her children and their families to maintain residences on the family property. Mary Alice was also fond of her time spent with the ""Club"", a monthly gathering with her friends.Preceding her in death were her parents, husband and two brothers Jack and Hesser McBride.Surviving are her daughters; Susan Snyder and her husband Harold, Barbara Dolan and her husband Brian, and Mary Jean Romey and her husband John all of Erie, a son Jake Rieder and his wife Arnette of Erie; grandchildren Tara Andrew and her husband Jared, Christopher and Stephanie Snyder, Jeff and Kristen Dolan, Megan, Katelyn, Bryan, and Steven Rieder and Ryan and Alyson Romey. 3 great-grandchildren; and a brother Bill McBride and his wife Regina of Spring Lake, NJ.A visitation will be held from 9:00 a.m., Saturday, March 8, 2008 at the Howe Mortuary.A Mass of the Christian Burial will be held at 10:00 a.m., Monday, March 10 at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church, with The Reverend Brian Morrow officiating.
