Vernon “Mike” Michael Noble was born in Aurora, Illinois on January 31, 1940. His parents were Vernon and Jessie Noble. After graduating from Purdue University with a Bachelors in Electronic Engineering, Mike married Diane Peterson in 1963 and they moved to California where he completed his Masters in Electrical Engineering and worked for Hughes Aircraft Company and Jet Propulsion Laboratory. Mike, Diane and their first born son Michael moved to Englewood, Colorado in 1966 where Daniel was born. Kathryn was born a year later and Mike continued to work as a VP for Ball Aerospace until his retirement at age 53.
Mike loved working outdoors and learning new hobbies. Mike was self-taught in raising hogs, managing acreage and a farm, and building a telescope viewing platform. Mike’s hog hobby grew into a small business with an output of ~350 market pigs/years. As he loved animals and fresh food, his gentleman’s farm included chickens, ducks, rabbits, goats, sheep, and dogs and cats. The farm was a quiet retreat to teach his children about caring for animals, responsibility, and a strong work ethic. Mike and his family turned their 40-acre dry land in Mead Colorado into an oasis of over 1,000 windbreak trees, fruit orchards, vegetable gardens, and a Federally Protected Wildlife Sanctuary.
Mike is survived by his sons Michael (Lorena), Daniel (Melissa) and his daughter, Kathryn Noble. His grandchildren will greatly miss him: Samantha, Ashley, Zach, Victoria and Josh. Mike loved and teased his sisters-in-laws Judy Lowell (Bob), Susan Deverall (Don), and nephew Alan Carter. Mike was preceded in death by his wife Diane, and his sister Helen. Mike went to be with the Lord on September 22, 2021 in Colorado Springs, Colorado at the age of 81.
