

Millard “Mal” Stiller, 58, of Longmont, died peacefully and spiritually, surrounded by his family reciting the Lord’s Prayer while holding his daughter’s and partner’s hand. October 19, 2010 at his home.
Mal was born on August 22, 1952 in Bayonne, New Jersey to Laurence A. Stiller and Margaret Cochran Stiller. He moved to Pennsylvania at a young age attending school there, graduating from Venago Catholic High School.
He attended Edinboro University, Edinboro, Pennsylvania. He later moved to Colorado and in 1997 began attending Mesa St. College in Grand Junction, Colorado where he excelled in all of his classes maintaining a 4.0 average. This move strengthened a life-long love of Colorado and the outdoors. He would live in the area off and on for many years, enjoying the life style of the mountains and the beauty and peace it brought. He was an avid hunter, hiker and camper and even lived in the wild Mal became a mountain man. after losing his Nederland home to a fire. His humor and wit were the delight of his family and dear friends. His “Malisms” will be indelibly embedded in these same family and friends minds forever.
Mal had been a general handyman in the Nederland and Boulder County area. He was talented at many tasks and jobs, taking on any challenge requested of him, professionally and personally. He also worked in his earlier days as both an ambulance attendant and a manager at a Detox Center in Lakewood, Colorado.
He was a member of St. John the Baptist Catholic Church. He was proud to have been a Friend of Bill W. for the past 11 years.
Preceding him in death were his parents. He was further preceded by his dog Blaze who died just the day prior to Mal’s passing.
Surviving are his daughter Keri Stiller of Nederland and her children Acacia and Alex; a son Jim Stiller and his wife Sarah Neimann of Milliken and their children Breanna, Ambrosha and Casey; common-law wife Jane Ripley of Longmont; a sister Beatrice Hoover of Alum Bank, Pennsylvania and numerous dear friends.
Service of the Christian Burial will be held at 10:00 a.m., Friday, October 22, 2010 at St. John the Baptist the Catholic Church.
Interment will follow at Longmont Mountain View Cemetery.
