Myron Benton, 95, of Longmont, died August 31, 2013 at his home. He was born October 22, 1917 in Cimarron, Kansas, the son of Emmett E. Benton and Alma L. Hatch Benton. Following his high school graduation he served his country for four years in the United States Navy.
On December 11, 1944 Myron married Iris M. Scott in Montezuma, Kansas.
In 1962 the couple moved to Longmont from Cimarron, Kansas. Myron worked as a carpenter in the maintenance department at I.B.M. Boulder until his retirement. He was a member of Central Presbyterian Church.
Survivors include his son Richard “Dick” Benton of Longmont and Susan Benton of Naturita, CO. and four grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife, his son Jack D. Benton and his sisters M. Louise Kendall and J. Luanne Anderson.
Services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, September 10 at Central Presbyterian Church with Reverend Dr. David Barker officiating. Interment will be at 1:00 p.m. at the Columbarium at Longmont Mountain View Cemetery.
