Nancy Melocco

Nancy Harrington Melocco, 63, of Longmont passed away peacefully after a 10-month struggle with cancer Friday September 16, 2011. She was at her home. Nancy was born in Guelph, Ontario Canada to Leonard and Irene Harrington on August 29, 1948. Family was her top priority and her great love she leaves behind three children and six grandsons. She sacrificed all to make sure her children were loved and safe. She taught her grandchildren the importance of integrity and honesty and often spent time outdoors sharing time and wisdom with the boys. Nancy graduated from the University of Western Ontario before making Colorado her home. She was a longtime resident of Longmont and served in the city's police dispatch office for 17 years. She was promoted to Emergency Communications Manager and was awarded the Longmont, Colorado Department of Public Safety Life Saving Medal helping save lives by creative means and extreme dedication. She ended her career in the technology industry as an Incident Administrator at Intrado, Inc.Nancy was preceded in death by her parents and her sister Edith Kleppe (Dingeman). She is survived by her sisters Patricia Simkin (Ron) and Brenda Seifried (David) as well as many nieces and nephews. Her children and grandchildren include: her son Jared Melocco (Heidi); daughter Renee Melocco (Shawn Thompson) and Renee's sons Timmy Bush, Deven Melocco, Mason Thompson, Lincoln Thompson; daughter Sarah Kimmett and her sons Ethan Morales, Preston Cobbina, Paden Cobbina. A celebration of Nancy's life is planned.
