Nancy was born in Bloomington, Minnesota on October 3, 1964, to her parents JoAnn Danberg and Gary A. Gehlen.
She had 5 siblings, one brother and four sisters. Growing up Christmas was a very special time for her and her whole family, there was lots of joy to be shared among everyone, it was a special time of giving that she enjoyed greatly. The family also enjoyed playing outside in their free time and playing with the dogs.
She graduated from high school in 1983 from Hutchinson High School in Hutchinson Minnesota. Later in life after moving to Colorado in the mid 1980’s she worked as a HR Administrative Assistant with the St. Vrain Valley School District, helping many in her path. Thus, creating relationships with those around her, each person enjoying her kind, loving and helping nature. On May 7, 1988, at Old Mill Park in Longmont, Nancy married her life partner Stephen Anthony Rossi. After marriage they enjoyed raising their 2 daughters together.
Nancy was the light of everyone’s life. From helping others in every way, she could, from purchasing meals for first response members to lending an ear during a time of need. She was counted on as being the person you could go to during hard days or even the good days. She will always be remembered for the loving and nurturing space she created for everyone.
During her free time, she most enjoyed spending time with her daughters and grandkids. When her kids were young, she would always try to spend as much time with them as possible, taking them shopping, out to eat, a craft fair or just enjoying time at home with them. Outside of spending time with her daughters and grandkids, she enjoyed visiting her family in Minnesota and Wisconsin, along with her father in Apache Junction, Arizona in his retirement community for an annual Veterans Day program. When she wasn’t spending time with her family she enjoyed singing or going to Broadway shows. And in the quiet moments she enjoyed spending time reading.
She is survived by her father Gary A. Gehlen, Apache Junction Arizona, and 5 siblings, one brother Gary John Gehlen from Savage, Minnesota. As well as her 4 sisters Lori Haapala in Eau Claire, Wisconsin. Beth Krasean in Willmar, Minnesota. Gwen Johnson in Hector, Minnesota. Denise Floen in Coon Rapids, Minnesota. Her loving husband Steve, her 2 daughters Stephanie Jolynn Gehlen Rossi and her spouse Mike Burns, JoAnn Katherine Rossi and her spouse Christopher McCarty. Her grandchildren Anthony James Burns, Caiden Jaxon Burns, and Jonathan Rian Burns. As well as many nieces and nephews.
She is preceded in death by her mother JoAnn Danberg, her maternal grandmother Mabel Gierke. Her paternal grandfather Richard Gehlen, paternal grandmother Pauline Gehlen.
