
Norma Michael of Longmont CO, passed on the evening of July 13th, 2016 at her home, with her son John at her side.Norma was born to immigrants Linda and Jules Perry in 1925. At the age of 22 she married her sweetheart Jack in her native home of Brooklyn, New York. Together they raised their son John in the Bergen Beach section of Brooklyn and ran their business, a charter fishing boat the America, and later the America 2 in Sheepshead Bay, Brooklyn NY. After Jack's passing in 1984 the family business was dutifully operated by her son John and his wife Alison Haskell Michael continuing the family legacy.In 1995 Norma moved to Colorado with her mother, settling in Longmont to be with her family. Norma's mother Linda Perry lived with Norma until she passed away in 1999.Mom to John and Alison Michael, Grandma to John Michael IV and Jaclyn Michael and their respective partners Michelle Michael and David Avila, Great Grandmother to Makayla Michael, John Michael V (JJ) and Ethan Jacob Avila.Norma's family stretched beyond her blood relations....she was a beloved Grandma to extended family as well- Jackie and Donny Epstein, Daniel and Richelle Knowles and their children Danny and Anika, and Louise Knowles and her children Donovan, Savannah and RyanNorma loved to dance, socialize and cook and care for her family, friends, relatives and her extended family of pets. She was always a vivacious, powerful and beautiful woman. Though outspoken for her generation, she still maintained a sense of elegance and feminine grace throughout her life. Her insights and wisdom were cherished by many. Her sparkly humorous presence and her love will be missed by all.
