

Patricia ?Pat? Makings of Longmont, died September 8, 2006 at Longmont United Hospital. She was 78.Pat was born on July 4, 1928 in Atwood, Kansas to Clarence Beamgard and Gladys Innes Beamgard. Raised in Atwood, Pat had many friends. She attended Atwood Grade School and graduated from Atwood High School. She then attended the University of Denver, where she received her teaching degree. She returned to Atwood and taught in a country school. Pat married Dale Palmer Makings in Atwood on February 20, 1949. They made their home in Atwood until moving to Longmont in 1972. They later divorced.Pat was employed in several businesses in Atwood including Williams Brothers Grocery Store, Ben Franklin and managed the Dairy Bar. After moving to Longmont she went to work for the Corner Pantry and later for the First National Bank as a bookkeeper.Pat?s family was a very important part of her life which was reflected in her caring spirit and she was particularly proud of her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren. She had a passion for her flowers and garden where she spent many hours that enabled her to share the fruitfulness of the produce with friends and family. Pat was best known for her famous raspberry jam and sourdough bread.Preceding her in death were her parents, former husband and a brother Don Beamgard.Surviving are a son John Makings and his significant other Kelly Lewis of Driggs, Idaho, her daughters Rebecca Lang and her husband Carey, of Atwood, Sally Lucarelli of Longmont, grandchildren Eli Makings and his wife Debbie of Bushton, Kansas, Adam Makings of Folsom, CA, Matthew Lang and his wife Pamela of Lincoln, NE, Kendra Hespe and her husband Marshall of Bird City, KS, and Nicholas and Christopher Lucarelli of Longmont; great grandchildren Dava and Alea Makings, Andrew, Sophia and lYdia Lang and Gustave, Nellie and Isabelle Hespe, two brothers Rod Beamgard and Bill Beamgard and his wife Jeannie both of Atwood.A cremation has been entrusted to the Howe Mortuary and Crematory.Memorial services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Thursday, September 14, 2006 at the Howe Mortuary Chapel, with David Bradshaw officiating
