

Pauline (Polly) E. Uilk, 82, of Longmont, died April 6, 2016 at Life Care Center of Longmont. She was born December 6, 1933 in Flandreau, South Dakota to Myrtle (Benson) and Nels Sorensen. On October 9, 1953 she married Darwin Gordon Uilk in Chester, South Dakota. Pauline worked at The Times Call and then for many years as a bookkeeper for Sindelier Furniture.
Pauline was an active member and volunteer of Messiah Lutheran Church. She also volunteered at Longmont United Hospital and at the Longmont library. In her free time, she enjoyed playing cards, shopping, reading and spoiling her grandchildren. She also enjoyed traveling and spending time with friends and family.
Surviving are her son Steven Uilk and his wife Marilyn of Mead; daughters Valerie Uilk of Longmont and Kimberly Uilk-Emory and her husband Verne of Estes Park. She is further survived by her brother Richard Sorensen and his wife Leni of Crozet, VA and her sister Viola Wangberg of Tucson, AZ. She was blessed with beloved grandchildren, great grandchildren, and a great-great grandchild as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
Preceding Pauline in death are her husband Darwin, a grandson Matthew Uilk , and her sisters Lila Garscia, Joyce Kemp and Fern Park.
Cremation has been entrusted to Howe Mortuary and Cremation Services.
The celebration of her life will be held at 11:00 am on Saturday, May 14, 2016 at Messiah Lutheran Church, Longmont.
