Peter Burch Johnson, 59, of Longmont, CO died June 20, 2006 at Longmont United Hospital.Peter was born March 10, 1947 in Chicago, Illinois to James and Marjorie (Burch) Johnson. He grew up and attended in school in Chicago. He also spent some time in Sarasota, Florida while growing up. Peter served in the United States Army and was in Vietnam during that war.Peter was a machinist and owned his own machine shop in Longmont for a while. He was a talented machinist and was a mentor to many young people wanting to learn his profession. Peter enjoyed boating and water activities and hiking in the mountains. He also played the 12-string guitar. His greatest joy was his daughter.His daughter Emily Burch Johnson and her fiancé James Ballenger of San Diego, California, a brother, Philip Johnson of Columbia, South Carolina and a sister, Molly Johnson also of Columbia, South Carolina, survive him.No local services are planned. Howe Mortuary and Crematory is handling cremation arrangements. There will be scattering in the Pacific Ocean at a later date.
