Philip Adam Grant passed from this life on January 17, 2024 in Loveland, Colorado at the age of 46. He was born in Englewood, Colorado on January 17, 1978, the youngest of three sons born to Nancy Kinney and Tom Grant.
Phil, as he was affectionately known to family and friends, grew up in the south Denver metro area and attended Littleton Public Schools. He was a natural athlete and excelled at sports. As a youth, he played for the Littleton Bombers, a competitive soccer team, and made Junior Varsity team in soccer as a freshman at Arapahoe High School. In addition, he enjoyed skiing, rooting for the Broncos and fishing with his dad.
Phil found a particular passion in music. He studied piano from an early age and eventually joined his brothers playing for local rock bands Sliquid, the New Dig and Little Piggy. A vintage Wurlitzer organ as well as an accordion were favorite other keyboard instruments. His day job was installing carpet.
He will be remembered as a compassionate and fun-loving man. Phil could be quick with a joke due to his good sense of humor. His friends were drawn to him for being non-judgmental and easy-going. Down-to-earth and never pretentious were apt descriptors of Phil.
Phil was preceded in death by his father. He is survived by his mother, stepfather Robert Franken, brothers Andrew Grant and Chris Grant, sisters Michelle Franken Walker, Nicole (Jeremy) Hurd and Olivia Franken (Amit Mathur) as well as numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and a nephew. He never married.
A service of Holy Eucharist is planned for Thursday, January 25 at 1 o'clock p.m. at St. John's Cathedral, 1350 N. Washington St., Denver. Interment on All Souls Walk will follow as well as a reception honoring Phil’s life.
