Rebecka Ann Drieth

She was born January 8, 1979 in Colorado Springs to Steve and Kathleen (Gillcrist) Schmidt. She attended Longmont High School and completed her associates degree in Art from Front Range Community College. She later attended CSU where she received a bachelor’s of science degree in Applied Social Sciences. Before college she married Scott Drieth on September 21, 1998 in Lafayette. She worked for numerous picture framing shops in the Boulder and Longmont areas. Together, they would become the new owners of Beale Fine Arts in Boulder. In 2010, she completed her paralegal certification and later went on to work for the Diane Sawaya law firm in Denver, then finally the Mesa county DA’s office in Grand Junction. On December 21, 2005, she and Scott welcomed their daughter Zora into their lives. Zora was the light of Beck’s life.

She enjoyed painting and drawing, was an avid reader about all sorts of crime and justice related books, as well as books on astronomy. Music was an important part of her life attending many concerts with friends and family. Throughout the years she played guitar, bass, violin, and piano. She also loved the outdoors, taking many hiking trips around the area. In 2017 they moved to Palisade, CO. She loved their new home where they had a peach orchard and a huge garden area.

Beck is survived by her husband Scott and daughter Zora of Palisade, CO; parents, Steve and Kathleen Schmidt Colorado City, CO; brother Steven Schmidt of Colorado City, CO; sisters Kat Schmidt of Colorado City, CO, Karen (Dave) Wilson of Tucson, AZ; mother in law, Judy Drieth, sister in law Christy (Eric) Angevine and a brother in law Sean (Miki) Drieth. She is further survived by many nieces, nephews, cousins and close friends.

A memorial service will be held at 3:00pm on Saturday, July 28, 2018 in the Howe Mortuary Chapel with Cris Crisfield officiating.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to Hopewest Hospice, NAMI Colorado, or to Zora’s college Invest 529 fund, c/o Howe Mortuary.
