

Rhea Jackson White, of Longmont, known as Jack to his family and friends, died March 9th, 2007 at the HospiceCare Center in Louisville. He was 79.Jack was born February 5, 1928 in Chattanooga, TN to Charles Vines and Eleanor Cartwright White.He graduated from Chattanooga High School in 1945; he then joined the Army and served in Italy in WWII. Upon returning he graduated from University of Chattanooga in 1950 and went on to a life long career with IBM that took him and his family around the world. He joyfully retired from IBM in 1985.He married Joe Ketchin ""Jody"" McAlpine on September 18th, 1954 in Union, SC.Jack had an undying love of traveling, golf and fishing, which he shared with his friends and family every chance he had.Surviving are his wife, Jody White of Longmont; daughter, Tirzah ""Terri"" Wolf of Longmont; son, James White and his wife, Sheila, of Westminster and his son, John Kelly White of Longmont; four grandchildren, Kelly and Emily White of Westminster, and Christopher and Thomas Moran of Longmont; sister, Elizabeth Danner and husband, Donald of St. Petersburg, FL; brother, Charles White and wife, Mary, of Lookout Mountain, TN; and a wonderful bunch of in-laws, nieces, nephews and cousins who he was fortunate to know very well.Cremation arrangements have been entrusted to Howe Mortuary & Cremation Services, Longmont. A memorial gathering will be held at Howe Mortuary, Wednesday, March 14, 2007, from 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m.In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to HospiceCare of Boulder and Broomfield Counties, 2594 Trailridge Drive East, Suite A, Lafayette, CO 80026, or the charity of your choice.
