Papa Jack, I know you already know how I feel about you. You and Jodie's ability to make anyone you cared about feel like one of the fammily is not a secret, and you definately brought me into your fold. You inspired me to learn to cook, be a gentleman on the golf course, although when you would push one the wrong way it was all Jim and I could do to keep a straight face, and lastly to treat women with respect at all times. Long and short of it is the fact that you loved and respected others, and taught me without preaching those things, but by living them. Those are the lessons in life that stick and you insured they did. They say a mans worth can be truely measured by his ability to put another at ease.Jack I trusted you completely from the very first time i met you and i always felt safe as a kid when you were around. You and Jody made me feel like a part of your family and that no small thing. Rest easy now and know you are sorely missed.Russ

When I reflect on all the great times I spent with my Uncle Jack, I immediately think of all the early mornings we got up to go to the Redington Beach Pier and attempt to catch some fish.  I can't count how many hooks we lost to the coral bottom and I can't repeat what Jack would mumble when made aware of another hook getting stuck...What I can say is that he always had passion about whatever he was doing even if it was relaxing.  IBM was lucky to have such an energetic employee and we are blessed to have had him in our family.  In many ways, he was a father figure during the Summer months and he taught discipline in a good way.  We will surely miss his smile and unique views on life.  Peace to all...Rick

To Aunt Jody, Terri, Jim, Sheila and John,I wish I could be there with you today physically, but please know I am definitely there in spirit! My heart goes out to each of you and I will keep you in my thoughts and prayers, especially today.As told by many, I think my most memorable thoughts of Uncle Jack are the wonderful summer gatherings in St. Pete with my cousins. We all had so much fun and he always seemed to have as much fun as we did - just a big kid at heart! And years later, our trips to Colorado were wonderful too! Like others, I too had a hard time finding one or two special memories to share.  There were so many.  When I closed my eyes and tried hard to pick just one thing, Uncle Jack's wonderful  smile was the first thing that came to mind.  It was almost a ""grin""; like he knew something we didn't.  Maybe he did.  His smile, and laughter, and wonderfully witty sense of humor would always light up any room he was in and we were always fortunate whenever we could share it.  We will miss him terribly but are so very blessed to have had any time with him at all.  My heart and my prayers will be with you all on wednesday and in the days to come.By the way, the fish really were bony!  HOOT!

I'm surely sorry that we are unable to be there for Jack's memorial service, but I would like to say a few words about my brother.  He was a tremendous friend in every sense of the word.  Always there to help me get into trouble when we were small and helping me stay out of trouble when we became teenagers...even to the point of canceling my dates if he didn't like them.  (He always got me another one--one he thought was better.)  He may have passed away, but left me with many wonderful memories.  Some humorous, some sad, but mostly happy ones that will never fade.Jack,  you will surely be missed, but never forgotten!!  I know you are with Mom and Pop and all our relatives and friends that have gone before us.  This is not good-bye, but rather ""so long"" and thanks for all our wonderful years together. So many special moments to remember when I think of my Uncle Jack...the twinkle in his vibrant blue eyes, the way he threw back his head and laughed during those magical summertime visits when all the grandkids would converge on our Granny and Grandpop's house.  I hear him calling for us to ""count off"" from the side of the pool, when each of us would pop our heads out of the water to sing out our ""numbers"" and assure him that all was well.  I see the dreaded imaginary ""penalty box,"" even though he never made us stay very long, no matter the offense.  I feel watermelon dribbling down my chin as we spit seeds across the yard to see who could make it the farthest.  Uncle Jack holds the knife to cut another slice for eager mouths.Years later and a trip to the ""Westward Ho House"" with my husband and teenage daughter proved that no time had passed.  Gray hair all around, but twinkling eyes, love and laughter were very much a part of our being together.I feel blessed to have shared so many special times with my ""Colorado Whites"" and I thank you, Uncle Jack and Aunt Jody, for making those moments possible.Aunt Jody, Terri, Jim & Sheila, and John--our hearts are with you.

Many memories of our trips to the beach, our camping trip to Wyoming when the ""white bugs"" began to fly the ""unflattering"" picture and too many memories to list here. We have a very shaggy 2-1/2 foot scarecrow standing guard in the corner by our front door...a very special gift from a very special guy. Thanks Jack for some wonderful life's memories.Jody and all the White""offsprings"" our love and hearts are with you.

Jack was a classmate at City High class of '45. He will be missed by all of us. My condolences to Jody and his family.

Charles and Eleanor White gave Jack the family names of Rhea (Pronounced Ray) and Jackson. When he was at the University of Chattanooga, the Pi Phi's thought his first name was the girl's name Rheea and sent him an invitation to a rush party. Jack said, ""I'm going, but I'm taking the invitation with me."" There were squeals and shrieks of: ""There's a MAN in the house!!! What are you doing here, Jack?"" They invited him to stay, but not to pledge, as he was already a Sigma Chi. This is but one anecdote that makes me smile when I fondly recall my brother-in-law Jack White.

I can't list my memories of Uncle Jack in 1000 characters! I remember most his laughter.  It came straight from his heart. I had the honor of being the flower girl in Aunt Jody and Uncle Jack's wedding. Imagine their surprise when I chewed up my One A Day vitamin that morning and came down the aisle with my purple mouth. How he laughed. He so loved life and most of all he shared that love of life with all of us.  Family reunions, trips to Estes Park, swimming at the WhiteHouse in St. Pete, and on and on.  My children were the first grandchildren and have been blessed by having Uncle Jack in their lives from childhood through adulthood.  I am sorry my grandchildren will miss that honor.  Can you imagine Uncle Jack getting his hands on my triplet grandsons!! Wouldn't that have been a treasure!!Happy Golfing Uncle Jack. I had the great privilege of being Jack's nurse for several days at Longmont United Hospital. I miss him after knowing him a short time, so I can only imagine the depth of your grief. I do smile when I think of his smile. Please accept my sincerest sympathies.

Uncle Jack we'll miss you.  You were part of some of my earliest memories.  That first trip to Daytona Beach when I was only three, finding that air conditioned bedroom and the artic air.  And how cousin John and I tried to tease him during our family reunion beach trips.  Such memories in a few weeks out of such a full life.  Jody, Terri, Jim, and John our prayers and thoughts are with you.

Some of the best memories I have are of our family gathered together at Grandpop's and Grandmom's in Florida. My Dad and Uncle Jack were the honorary life guards for Randy, Patty, Kathy, Richard, Terri, John, Jim, me(Charles), Clare and Robert. By the time we finished playing and swimming, with all ten kids splashing so much water out of a 20' x 8' pool, it was amazing there was any water left for the adult swim, when, Aunt Betty, Uncle Don, Uncle Jack and Aunt Jody, Grandpop and Grandmom, and my Dad and Mom finally got a chance to get in the pool. Later on, I was glad that Uncle Jack and Aunt Jody got to meet my beautiful wife, Shirley, when we were going through Longmont on our honeymoon. Aunt Jody please know that all of our prayers are with you and your family. Uncle Jack was a warm and loving man who is already missed. You and Uncle Jack were a team for 52 years! It is an honor for me to share thoughts and memories of my brother Jack and to pass along condolences to all Jack's family and friends.  Time here today does not suffice for me to share with you all of my thoughts and memories of Jack.The one thought of Jack that always stands out in my memory of Jack was a statement our father made many years ago to a gathering of friends ""if Jack were to die tonight, you can not be sad for he has enjoyed a full and happy life!""Remember as we share our grief... Every time I pass the Whites' Longmont house I have a fond thought or two.  Mr. White (he'll always be 'Mr' to me),and his family were a positive influence on me at a critical and formative time in my life.  I'll always be thankful for the fellowship of his children (my friends), and the kindness of Mrs. White.  In particular the strength that Mr. White modeled for us was more powerful than any words.  His will to make positive but difficult changes in his life helped inspire me to make vital ones in my own.  I also appreciate the kind words and smiles he never seemed to run out of when I would see him at Twin Peaks Golf Course in the past 10 years or so.Though it's got to be especially difficult for the family to lose him, I hope that memories of his love, laugh, and smile carry the days more and more as time goes by.Sincerely,Jeff Linroth

I am saddened by the recent passing of my uncle, Jack White. Jack was my Dad's younger brother and, always, according to my Dad a free spirit, with a quick sense of humor, a healthy gait, and an ever present twinkle in his eye. He was a successful businessman in life, but what mattered most was his family.      I remember in my youth our family trips to my grandparents' home in St. Petersburg, Florida. They had a small swimming pool behind their house and it was always extra special to have our cousins there to play. Imagine a small pool with 10 wild kids splashing, jumping, diving, yelling and generally being kids. And those marathon games of Marco-Polo!!! Uncle Jack was a sea of calm, acting as head lifeguard making sure we didn't drive the adults crazy or kill each other. With a kind word here or a firm hand there, Uncle Jack knew how to maintain control and still let us have a great time. Those Florida trips were special to me, my siblings, and my parents.     I'll miss you Uncle Jack. I know you are up above in heaven helping someone line up a putt or sharing your cooking tips for fried corn or lemon fruit cake. Jack was a passionate, fun loving,generous man. He had a terrific sense of humor and made people happy just to be with him. A solid friend with great morale character. He loved to go grocery shopping, any little thing to let him go to the store, if he wasn't busy golfing. He lived life to the fullest and will be deeply missed.Love, Patty & Erik Meyer
