

Richard Ames Fish of Torrington, Wyoming, and Niwot, Colorado, passed away on May 26, 2011, surrounded by his loving family, after a courageous battle with cancer. Born in Grantsburg, Wisconsin, on February 21, 1947, Richard graduated from the University of Wisconsin with a double major in Business Administration and Sociology. From 1968 until 1970 he served in the U.S. Army, and from 1973 until 1978, Richard managed educational centers for the Department of Defense in West Germany, Turkey, and Greece. After his return to the United States, Richard worked for twenty years in the sales area of the electronics industry, eventually founding his own company, Reliance Sales of Niwot, Colorado.
From 2002 until his recent diagnosis of pancreatic cancer, Richard served as a teacher for the St. Joseph’s Children’s Home in Torrington, Wyoming. In this capacity he taught life skills and character development to groups of troubled boys who resided at the home.
Richard was preceded in death by his mother and father, Clara and Virgil Fish. Surviving him are his wife, Dolores; his sisters, Vicki (Lauren) Sompayrac and Christine Brenizer; his brothers, Greg and Rory Fish; one daughter, Andrea (Jeremiah) Stellish and one son, Randy (Deborah) Harris; four grandchildren, Trent, Emily, Nicholas, and Elizabeth; and numerous nieces and nephews.
