Rick was our friend for 25 plus years. We enjoyed knowing such a 
caring man. He and Dallas shared the love of cars and racing. He was a great animal lover and was so devoted to his constant companion , his dog Storm. We will cherish he times spent with Rick at our coffee visits . Rest in peace friend!

I’m so thankful to have visited last spring. Getting to know Great Uncle Rick was such a blessing.   He took us everywhere. Up the mountains and  to his friends horse farm. His knowledge of the land and it’s history was amazing !  It might have taken a little longer for him to tell his stories towards the end.  But it was always worth it to be patient and listen 💗.  Rest easy 

Rick was our neighbor the last 5 years, he helped us out a few times with his big snowblower. I did some things for him too, we got to chat once in awhile too. We talked about muscle cars and his Challenger.  He was a great guy and neighbor and will be missed. All our thoughts and prayers during this difficult time go  to Lil Ric snd the family.

Goodbye to a longtime old friend from growing up in Detroit. I remember racing our bikes to later years racing our cars. Driving for hours on Telegraph Rd. To racing at Detroit Dragway on weekends, Hanging out with friends, Mike ,Wayne ,Jim, Dick just to name a few. We kept in contact all these years ,even after you moved to Colorado and I moved to Montana.  Farewell friend rest in peace.

Dearest Uncle Ric,
    Even though our memories together over the years are few because of the many miles between us, we treasure them all with great fondness of a kind, gentle but strong Uncle that had a great love for nature & animals that we all share ourselves. We take comfort in knowing that there is a great reunion happening right now in Heaven as our loved ones are welcoming another Angel.

Rick, 
You and I have so many memories together as neighborhood kids playing with our toy trucks, riding our bikes to see how far we could go, delivering newspapers on our bikes that eventually turned into delivering papers in your 1953 Ford. Driving around with no actual goal of where we are headed, but we had fun doing it. The nights we spent in the McDonald’s parking lot with a ton of friends talking about cars. 
It seemed like we were always together doing something. Boy Scouts, racing on Telegraph, hanging out at Ernie’s house or driving around looking for old friends that moved from the neighborhood.
I will miss having the chance to talk with you but I will never forget the times we had. Sleep well my friend!

We have been close friends of Rick for at least 24 years or longer.
Dallas and Rick had the love of cars in common! He came to visit often and had breakfast with Dallas at Aunt Alice's 5 days a week for the last several years. Rick did his best to not let Parkinson's get the best of him. He dearly loved his constant companion, his dog Storm. He will be sadly missed. He was an awesome friend.

Thank you uncle Ric for taking a troubled 16 year old on a trip that would change the path of my life! You taught me how to appreciate the little things in life, How to love the outdoors, love nature and how to respect it.  You taught me to never give up. Like climbing a mountain Literally! On that trip we climbed A mountain until we saw a sign that said ‘experienced hikers only beyond this point’ and you said ‘well we made it this far, that means we are experienced now’  lol and the view  at the top of that mountain I can still see to this day in my minds eye 😍   I know you are in a place like that now.  

Love & prayers to you, Ric & Barb and the family!  Ric told us many stories of his Uncle Rick,  who was more like a father to him.  He is at peace now.  God bless.

Thank you for teaching me the value of hard work and perseverance, love of the outdoors and doing things “outside” the box.  Letting me know it’s okay to be my own individual and it’s not the number of friends you have, rather the quality and to always be ready  to lend a helping hand to those who are in need.   We will always cherish the many times you came out to stay with us in the summer and sailing with us when we first got the sailboat, the long talks and laughter we shared during those times.  
We are so blessed to have been with you in those last moments, sending  all of our love along with you, knowing that our voices, in unison, saying we love you, went with you.   We hold you so very close in our hearts & always will.
