Riley Mae Sluman

20 June, 199721 September, 2021

Riley Mae Sluman, 24, of Evans, died September 21, 2021 in Firestone as the result of a motorcycle accident.

Riley was born June 20, 1997 in Louisville, CO to Michael “Scottie” Sluman and Toni Dawe. She was raised in Lafayette and graduated from Centaurus High School in 2015. In 2018 she welcomed her pride and joy, Huxley, into her life. That started a bond that was as thick as the one she had with her Daddy. Riley’s love for her family ran deep. The love she had for her dad, Scottie, was palpable from a far. A love that most people will never experience in a lifetime, and a loyalty to him that was undying. Scottie’s love for his baby girl was twice that. He was the greatest father a little girl could ever have.

She also shared a crazy love for her big brother, Justin. Her mom called them her Gemini Twins, both born June 20th five years apart. Riley thought is was great that they shared that day. Justin, however; was hoping for a bicycle on his 5th birthday. The gift he received instead turned into a bond that could never be broken.

Riley had numerous cousins that meant the world to her and they all fiercely loved her back.

Riley had a beautiful voice and knew the words to every song she liked even after only listening to it once. She loved live music and hardly missed a concert of her favorite bands.

She would do anything for her many friends. From driving them anywhere they needed to go, to sitting with them for hours when they needed a friend, to countless crazy adventures across this country. Riley always had her entourage in tow.

She loved to cook and if you were there at dinner time you knew this to be true.

She took up the hobby of photography in middle school and she soon became her own favorite subject.

She and Huxley moved to Texas with her mom for a short time in 2019 where she created so many more friendships that meant the world to her.

Riley loved Huxley and wanted, more than most knew, that “Happily ever after ending” with Huxley’s dad, Matt.

Riley’s heart was huge even under that tough wild side she portrayed and she will be deeply missed by so many.

Riley is survived by her son, Huxley; mother, Toni Dawe (Dave Burton); brother, Justin Bullock; niece Amber Grace Bullock; grandma’s , Connie Sluman and Kris Janssen; grandpa, Rich Dawe (Ellen Dawe); and numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, AND her forever loyal fur babies Mini and Copper.

Riley and her father left this world side by side and will continue to raise hell together. She was preceded in death by paternal grandfather, Papa Don Sluman; and her Papa Mert Janssen.

A memorial service for Scottie and Riley will be held Saturday, October 2, 2021 at 1:00 PM, 10230 County Road 15., Longmont, CO 80504.

Fond memories and expressions of sympathy may be shared at for the Sluman family.

Riley Mae, or as you became, Big Booty Judy. Thank you for allowing me to be the other half of "your two Dads." Watching you grow up I always knew you were gonna be a firecracker. You had this attitude and sense of humor that made you stick out. I know we didn't always see eye to eye, but when you love a kid like they are your own, you rarely do. Our 3 hour chat at chili's wasn't your favorite I know, but I also know you told me you appreciated the fact I cared. I'm gonna miss you kid. You wanted to make a mark on the world and by God kid I think you succeeded. When your journey is done, please keep your Dad out of trouble. He's gonna need the help. 😀
Peace out girlscout!

I’m still waiting for that Snapchat to get my ass up here so we can go out on the town. I’ll always miss that contagious laugh and those random punches in the shoulder that were way stronger than they should’ve been. Your dad definitely raised you as a strong woman. Love and miss you guys!

I'm at a loss for words right now. The day I finally met you after all the ridiculous facebook conversations we've had was one of the wildest times I've had in years. Despite what other people might say, I thought you were super nice, and I appreciated you for being you. Nobody had to wonder how you felt cuz you'd say exactly what you meant and you'd say it to their face, not behind their backs. You kept it real with me when I was acting dumb, and even with all the crazy stuff we both had/have going on, you were really positive and encouraging when you knew how hard I was struggling. I appreciated it a lot, and I'd like to think you knew that. I tried to repay the favor. I'm sorry I wasn't able to.

I'll expect a plate of cookies when I come join you. You already know mf.

Rest in peace Riley. For real. You will be missed.

Riley, I will always cherish our friendship for all of its chaos and all of its happy moments in its entirety. You were one of the best friends I ever had and I will always carry a part of you with me. I know you and Scottie are right with each other in heaven and I couldn’t be more honored to have known the both of you. Your dad was a great man and I know how much you both loved each other. Just know I love and miss you both dearly. Until we meet again beautiful. ❤️

Riley, I don’t even know where to begin. When I got the call I was in instant shock. I had just talked to you. We were just getting close again. It feels like just yesterday we were celebrating your birthday walking around Denver. There was never a dull moment with you. You found the light in every situation and you were such a good momma. You beautiful soul were taken way to soon. Our boys will make so many memories together so make sure you are watching. Thank you for being someone I could count on. You are so greatly missed. Gone but never forgotten.
