

Robert Lee Egan of Longmont, died November 13, 2010 at Longmont United Hospital after an extended illness. He was 76.
Bob was born on September 1, 1934 in Julesburg, Colorado to John Francis Egan and Anna Elizabeth Bergin. He grew up in Lakewood and graduated from Alameda High School.
Bob married Berta Ann Becker on August 18, 1962 in Sharon Springs, Kansas. They immediately moved to Longmont, where he took a management position with Food Giant Grocery. He then went to work for Windsor Gardens Grocery, before returning to Longmont to open his own store Odd Lots Grocery. He later would enter sales, working in the windows and siding business for a number of years.
He was a member of St. John the Baptist Catholic Church and an active member of the Knights of Columbus. He served in a number of capacities including Grand Knight and Faithful Navigator. He was instrumental is starting and assisting in the Knights of Columbus Scholarship Fund and a volunteer for the St. John Food Share Program.
Preceding him in death are his parents; a son Dennis John Egan;
Surviving are his wife Berta; two daughters Debbie Egan-Zinker (Scott) of Erie, and Donna Egan of Lakewood; a son David Egan (Kelley) of Firestone; two brothers Duaine Egan (Louise) of Denver and Bill Egan of Evergreen; two sisters JoAnn Loose (Jerry) and Joyce Egan both of Lakewood; 5 grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.
A visitation will be held from 12:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m., Tuesday, November 16 at the Howe Mortuary Community Room. A Vigil Service will follow at 7:00 p.m. at the Mortuary.
Mass of the Christian Burial will be held at 10:00 a.m., Wednesday, November 17 at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church.
Interment will follow at Longmont Mountain View Cemetery.
