

Robert was born June 16, 1924, the only child of Quinton H. Comiskey and Mabel G. Richardson Comiskey in Pueblo, Colorado. He passed from this life to the next on April 16, 2022, surrounded by his daughters and sons-in-law.
He was best known as Bob by friends and family. He was raised in Pueblo and graduated from Central High School where he met the love of his life, Eileen. Bob joined the Seabees upon graduation from high school. He served in Papua, New Guinea, where he learned refrigeration, repairing ships in the Pacific fleet during WWII.
While overseas, Bob saw an ad for a diamond ring. He sent the ad and money to his father and asked him to purchase the ring. His father bought the ring and proposed to Eileen on Bob’s behalf. They were married in Pueblo on April 24, 1946, after Bob returned from service. They welcomed their first daughter, Kathie, on May 8, 1947. Their second daughter, Susan, arrived on November 14, 1948. She was born with cystic fibrosis and predeceased them on March 8, 1951. Judy, born on September 2, 1954, joined the family by adoption when she was six weeks old. They welcomed their youngest daughter, Terrie, on May 15, 1955.
When Bob returned to Pueblo after serving in the Seabees he went to work for Pueblo Sheet Metal where he learned the heating and air condition trade. In the mid-1960s Bob was the business representative for the Sheet Metal Workers Union Local 9. In 1971 he and Eileen opened their own sheet metal shop, known as Key Heating and Air conditioning. When they closed Key Heating and Air Conditioning Bob and Eileen moved to Denver where they managed large luxury apartment complexes. In 1987 they moved to Greeley, Colorado, where Bob and Eileen managed Heatherway Apartments. After retiring Bob worked at a variety of jobs including driving a shuttle to Stapleton Airport and doing maintenance at St. Peter’s Catholic Church and working at a Don’s Hobby Shop.
Bob and Eileen were people of great faith and were members of Sacred Heart Cathedral in Pueblo for many years. They led Marriage Encounter Weekends around the country. He and Eileen worked on numerous community projects in Pueblo. He was known as Mr. Fix-it to the nuns at the Cathedral. They loved their rosary group at St. Peter’s and served at Mercy House aiding those in need.
Bob loved antique cars and model airplanes. He received many trophies for his flying and in his later years was a member of LoveAir RC club in Weld County. He was a member of the Vintage Motor Car Club of America for many years. Bob loved to read and usually had music playing. He will be remembered for his great sense of humor and his wardrobe of funny tee shirts.
His family was always the most important thing in his life. Bob is survived by daughters: Kathie (Don) Dolce of Longmont, Judy (Brad) Sprague of McKinney, Texas, and Terrie (Stewart) Abbot of Greeley. Grandchildren: Amy Sage (Bill LaCroix), Susan (Sean) Lynch, Candace (Jake) Jones, Harper (Katie) Abbot, Quin (Christina) Abbot, Brittany Sprague, Brandon (Jessica) Sprague. And his great-grandchildren: Brittan Walker; Ruby and Levi Sage, Anna LaCroix; Delia and Keegan Lynch; Bailey Poff, Logan Crowder; Kytalynn and Tripp Sprague; Emily, Lainey, Bekah, Titus, Maggie and Juliet Abbot. His nieces and nephews: Chris (Ron) Armstrong, Carolyn (Patrick) Scully, Cindy Carter, Mindy (David) Arguello, Merrie Ellen (Paul) Bush, Michael (Lori) McIntyre; numerous cousins and extended family and friends. He was preceded in death by his wife Eileen, his parents and daughter Susan.
A private family service will occur at a later date.
