He attended CU and Rockmont Christian College where he played basketball. In 1967 he married Judith (Judi) Ann Miller – his high school sweetheart - and they just recently celebrated 53yrs of marriage on June 10, 2020.
Ron began his working career in 1967 where he served 53 years at IBM’s headquarters in Colorado. His team was acquired by Lexmark International, Inc. and he worked in the same location until his passing. He never retired, and at age 75, he was still employed full-time as a Staff Logistics Planner due to his incredible experience, knowledge, and skill in his job. His mind was sharp, and his wisdom and knowledge were in high demand till his very last breath here on earth.
Ron’s passions were following in the footsteps of his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, caring for his family and friends, being a loyal employee at IBM/Lexmark, teaching fastpitch softball, and fishing. He was known by many as one of the best men’s fastpitch softball pitchers and instructors in the nation. He cared deeply about sharing his knowledge and skills with others and as a result, helped many athletes obtain college scholarships and learn life lessons from his high-quality instruction and teachings. He was also an incredible bass fisherman and spent his quiet times on the local lakes and ponds in God’s beautiful creation. His bass fishing secrets and techniques are honored to this day by his children and grandchildren.
If you ask anyone that knew Ron Leinweber, they would all tell you he was a completely selfless man of God devoted to his family, friends, and his work. They would say he was one of the most genuine, caring, understanding, and strong souls they had ever met. They would say he had a way of making you feel special and could find the positives in life no matter what the circumstance. They would say his example of loyalty, trust, and kindness, changed their lives and strengthened their soul. They would say his cheerful positive attitude, and big smile was infectious and always full of hope. They would say If you met him for the first time, even at the end of his days on earth, you would never have known of his many years of battle with cancer….his life was not about him. He was truly a rare and respected servant leader in all respects
