Mr. Morgan was born October 6, 1921 in a sod house near Dix, Nebraska to Claude and Anna (Gragert) Morgan. He attended a one-room school through the eighth grade. It was at this time the family moved to Columbus in eastern Nebraska. After graduation from high school he went on to Aircraft School in Omaha and was hired at Patterson Air Base in Ohio. Sometime later he enlisted into the Army Air Corp. In three months time he was aboard ship headed for parts unknown. That turned out to be India and China where he spends the next two and a half years as a radio technician and operator. He returned to the States as a T/Sgt and after a little more time in Memphis, TN he received his Honorable Discharge and then headed back home to Columbus, NE. About a year later he went back out to western Nebraska and on February 1, 1949 he married Betty (Graham) Anspauch. They were blessed with four children, two boys and two girls. They spent many happy years farming and Ron also did some electrical work in the winter and his spare time.
In 1966, they gave up farming and moved to Longmont, CO where schools were more convenient. Ron knew he could provide for his family by working in the electrical trade and would later form Ronz Electric and was quite successful for several years. After construction slowed, he sold his business and worked for Staodyn, Inc in Longmont for another 17 years. After his retirement Ron and his wife spent time volunteering for the OUR Center. They have been members of the Westview Presbyterian Church since 1967 where he held positions of Deacon and Elder. He was a member of the American Legion since his discharge and has held Lifetime Membership at Post 32 in Longmont since 1983. He was a 4-H leader while his children were growing up.
The Morgan’s have been fans of the Broncos and the Rockies and have attended some spring training games of the Rockies in Arizona where they traveled with their R.V. They also enjoyed Ballroom Dancing at various places.
Ron was preceded in death by his parents, his son Douglas, two brothers Harold and Merle Morgan, a sister, Loretta Medinger and several other relatives and friends.
