Steven Dale Goodman

Steven Dale Goodman, of Longmont, Colorado, beloved father and grandfather, passed away on Wednesday, September 6, 2023 at the age of 74. He is survived by his daughter, Julie (Andrew) Eich of Hudson, Ohio, son Derek (Courtney) of Westminster, Colorado and grandchildren Connor, Leyla, and Logan Eich of Hudson, Ohio. He also leaves behind brothers Mark Goodman (Becky) and KC Goodman, his maternal Uncle Charles (Estella), cousin Kristin Lauter, numerous nieces and nephews and his former wife Roberta Bilderback.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Donald Goodman and Beverly Lauter Goodman, his sister Nancy Goodman and cousin Nick Lauter.

Steve was born on September 14, 1948 in Johnson City, New York. He was a 1966 graduate of Hightstown High School in Hightstown, New Jersey, where he lived the majority of his early life. He received his Bachelors of Arts from the University of Bridgeport in 1971 and his Masters of Arts from SUNY Albany in 1973. He relocated to the Washington, DC area for several years before settling on the eastern shore of Maryland where his children were raised. Steve spent most of his career as Director of Arts and Communications for Tidewater Specialties in Easton, Maryland. He spent the last several years of his career as the Communications Coordinator for The Benedictine School, a school for disabled individuals. Upon retiring in 2016 Steve moved to Longmont, Colorado.

Despite being born colorblind Steve was an artist who saw the world more colorful than most. He had the deepest appreciation for art and music and took great joy in sharing it with others. He especially loved live music and his favorite pastimes were attending countless shows with his son Derek. He enjoyed exploring the outdoors and was especially fond of visiting National Parks; the beauty of the natural world was never lost on him. He had a tremendous faith and was a dedicated member of Heart of Longmont United Methodist Church where he sang in the choir. Steve's greatest pride and joy was his family and spending time with his children and grandchildren brought him the most happiness. Other great loves of his were the Orioles, the Ravens, and his cherished dog Oliver.

A celebration of life for Steven will be held Friday, November 10, 2023 at 11:00 AM at Heart of Longmont United Methodist Church, 350 11th Avenue, Longmont, Colorado 80501, followed by a reception at 12:00 PM.
