

Susan Mui-Woods, loving wife, mother, grandmother, aunt, friend and colleague passed away August 4th, 2016 in Longmont Colorado. She was born September 9th, 1949 in Muncie, Indiana to the late You Mow Mui and Choy Lung Mui.
Sue graduated from Evanston Township High School in 1967. She worked her way through college at The Boar’s Head Restaurant and went on to graduate from Bradley University in Peoria, IL class of 1971. She received her degree in Psychology and went on to work with the intellectually disabled. She later met the love of her life John Allen Woods in 1975.
John and Sue moved to Colorado in 1981 and were married December 31st, 1982. They then moved to Longmont shortly after and started up St. Vrain Stables where it still operates today. She also pursued a career at The Armadillo Restaurant until 1998. She then went to work for Fernandez Law Firm, PC in Longmont from 1998 to 2003. She also started a business, Cowboy Classic Carriage Company, with her husband John where she put a smile on people’s faces giving carriage rides. Sue went on to work for Flanders, Stover & Elberg, LLP in Longmont from 2003 until 2011 and then off to work for Shively, Holst & Dowling, LLP in Longmont for the rest of her career.
Family and friends were extremely important in her life. She loved to spend her weekends watching her grandchildren as well as her favorite team The Denver Broncos play during football season. She loved to have her family and friends over for dinner where she fed them to their hearts content. She always put family and friends first and made sure they had a great time at The Woods’ Family Farm.
Sue leaves behind her loving husband John, their dog Amos and horse Missy; her children Tony Woods (Jill) of Longmont and Tina Woods-Miller of Peoria, IL; precious grandchildren John, Holly, David, Paris, Taggar, Rio and Jazz; Siblings Yuk Oi Poy (William), the late Bing Mui (Angela), Ben Mui (Helen), Bon Mui (Pearl), Bond Mui (Kathleen) and John Mui; as well as many nieces, nephews and friends.
A Memorial Service will take place on Friday, August 12, 2016 3:00pm., at Howe Mortuary, 439 Coffman St. in Longmont. A Celebration of Life will be held at The Woods’ Family Farm; St. Vrain Stables, 203 Hover in Longmont following the service. Food and beverages will be served.
