Theodora A. Wright

Teddy was born on February 28, 1938 in Waukegan, Illinois, to Morris Albert and Mary Ann (Doyl) Hull. At 8 years of age, she moved with her family to Jesup, Iowa, where she attended school until her graduation from Jesup Consolidated School in 1956.

Following graduation, Teddy was employed at DX Sunray Oil Company in Waterloo, Iowa. Following a move to South Dakota, she was employed in the office at J.S. Kibben Company and then the Child Welfare Department. Subsequently, she began working for U.S. Civil Service at Ellsworth AFB, SD. In January 1960, her family was transferred to Sheppard AFB, TX, and her employment as a medical transcriptionist began soon thereafter. Medical transcription was a perfect fit and she worked in that capacity at a number of hospitals over the years including Sheppard AFB Hospital; Mercy Hospital, Cedar Rapids, IA; Ehrling Bergquist USAF Hospital, Offutt AFB, NE; Queen of the Valley Hospital, Napa, CA; Intercommunity Hospital, Fairfield, CA; UC San Francisco, CA; and from 1975 - 2002 was the owner-operator of Teddy Wright Transcription Service, Fairfield, CA, providing transcription services for local doctors and several area hospitals. After almost 30 years in Northern California, she left in 2002 to be closer to family, and after 2 years in Iowa, she moved to Longmont, CO, continuing to work remotely as a medical transcriptionist for a transcription service until her retirement in September 2013. She grew to love Longmont, although she continued to visit California friends and San Francisco whenever she could.

Teddy loved singing, dancing, reading, hiking, traveling, quilting, and socializing with friends. She participated in many activities through the Longmont Senior Center and made many friends there. She loved meeting new people on her travels and stayed in touch with many of them, visiting them when possible and always inviting them to visit her when they could.

She was married twice, to Gerald Henry Timmer and to DeWayne Joe Wright. Both marriages ended in divorce, the last in 1975. She was in a long term relationship with Richard B. Pence of Fairfield, CA, and became a part of the Pence family in all but name, considering Dick's brothers and sister, nieces and nephews, her own.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her granddaughter, Tiffanie Anne Wright, in 2002; and her daughter, Kelly Ann (Wright) Brown, in 2010.

She is survived by her son, Kevin Charles Wright (Shelly) of Longmont; grandsons Joshua Wayne Brown (Erin) of Hiawatha, IA, Travis Michale Wright (Paige Walker) of Windsor, CO, and Jason Morris Brown of Longmont; granddaughter Tayler Nicholle Wright (Oscar Pineda) of Firestone, CO; grandson Erik Pacchetti (Liz Palencia) of Suisun City, CA; great granddaughters Naveah Palencia of Suisun City, CA, and Emma Finnley Brown of Hiawatha, IA; great grandsons Mason Michale and Jaden Anthony Pineda, and great granddaughter Ryleigh Anne Pineda, of Firestone, CO; and her brother, William Elmer Hull (Mary), of Moline, IL.
