
Wayne R. Bath of Niwot passed away suddenly of natural causes while on a whitewater rafting trip in Idaho. He was 60 years old. He was born August 17, 1952 to Conrad and Doris (Descheneaux) Bath in Lowell, Massachusetts. Wayne lived in several locations because of his father's Army career. He spent his junior high and high school years in Fountain, CO, graduating from Fountain-Fort Carson High School in 1970.On April 27, 1996 at Sacred Heart of Mary Catholic Church in Boulder, CO he married Kathy Quigley.Wayne spent nearly 40 years in the medical diagnostics/medical devices industry. For the past 13 years he was a regional service manager for Siemens Corporation.His two passions in life were his family and whitewater rafting. He started rafting in 1978 and became a legend in Colorado's whitewater world known affectionately as Wayniac. He was able to pursue his love of rafting until the day he died. Wayne loved people and was not only a wonderful family man and true friend, but didn't know a stranger. He always had a smile on his face and would bring humor into any situation. He would also jump at the opportunity to help someone, whether he knew them or not, especially when on the river. Wayne has touched so many lives with his positive, laid back outlook and lovable personality and his loss is strongly felt by so many who loved him.He was preceded in death by his parents.Wayne is survived by his wife Kathy, four daughters Rachel Bath Hudacko (Michael), Nicole Bath Hawkins (Andrew), Brooke James (Adam) and Erin Pronto (Jared); four granddaughters Hailey Hawkins, Alea and Opal James and Shaelyn Pronto. He is also survived by his siblings, Roy Bath, Dan Bath, Kathy Harger, Norman Bath and their spouses along with numerous nieces and nephews.Funeral services will be held at 2:00pm Friday, May 31, 2013 at the Ahlberg Funeral Chapel, followed by a Celebration of Life at Community Park in Louisville, CO from 4:00-8:00pm. Cremation entrusted to Ahlberg Funeral Chapel and Crematory. Memorial contributions may be made to Disabled American Veterans, Friends of the Poudre, Larimer County Dive Rescue Team or a river preservation organization of your choice.
