

William Campbell Pinkerton, 82 of Erie passed away June 26, 2018. Bill was born April 26, 1936 in Santa Paula California to William C. and Ruth (Hofmeister) Pinkerton. He grew up in Santa Paula, CA and graduated from Santa Paula High School.Bill obtained a four year agricultural degree from California Polytechnic State University (Cal Poly).Bill enlisted in the U. S. Army Reserves and served for four years. After his service, Bill worked as a citrus rancher in California, growing oranges and lemons.In 1980, he moved to Colorado to be closer to his family.Bill enjoyed taking care of animals, gardening, woodworking, building models and playing games. He was known for having a loving heart and a good sense of humor. Bill was preceded in death by his partner, Marilyn Wykert. He is survived by his two daughters: Sally (Charley) Horelka of Victoria, TX and Robin (Adolph) Martinez of Port Lavaca, TX; sister Ruth Conner of Oakhurst, CA; five grandchildren: Eric Horelka, Logan (Nicole) Horelka, Stephan Nevarez, Vance (Briana) Nevarez, and Jessica Martinez; two great-grandchildren: Brance Nevarez and Kai Nevarez; as well as Cody Wykert, who was like a son to Bill.A memorial service will be held at 6:00 PM, Friday July 6th, 2018 at Ahlberg Funeral Chapel, 326 Terry St. Longmont, CO 80501.In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Wild Animal Sanctuary or the Denver Museum of Nature and Science.
