Frederick F. Lacefield, 78, of Guston, KY, was born on August 20, 1946, in Centertown, Ohio County, KY, and passed away peacefully at home on November 5, 2024. Fred was the devoted husband of Dorothy L. Lacefield, with whom he shared 54 wonderful years of marriage. Together, they built a life centered on love, faith, and service to others. He was preceded in death by their child, Baby Lacefield, as well as three beloved grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
Fred is survived by his six children: Alina (Harley) Fulk, Fred (DeJay) Lacefield, Seth (Robin) Lacefield, Alisha (Shane) Neagle, Shad (Whitney) Lacefield, and Devon (Amy) Lacefield. His legacy also lives on through his 20 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren, all of whom carry forward the lessons and values he instilled.
A man of unshakable faith, Fred served for many years as a devoted Deacon and Sunday School Teacher. Each morning, he and Dorothy shared in Bible study, anchoring their lives in the word of God. His faith guided every part of his life, from ensuring his family was in church whenever the doors were open to gathering for family prayer time before bed and meals, each ending with a heartfelt, "Praise the Lord!"
Fred dedicated his life to hard work and service. He spent many years as a Supervisor at LG&E before retiring and continuing his career as Head of Maintenance at Dairy Queen. After a second retirement, he worked as a Production Supervisor at Johnson Controls, finally retiring for the third and final time. Whether at work or home, he poured his energy and dedication into every task, cherishing his time on his 13-acre farm, riding his tractor, and caring for his land.
Fred’s devotion to family extended beyond his immediate household, especially in the loving care he provided to his mother-in-law for 26 years. As a husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather, he led by example with unwavering commitment and generosity of spirit. In his final days, Fred was surrounded by his loved ones at home, where he was able to embrace them and express his love, leaving them with treasured memories.
A celebration of Fred’s life and legacy will be held at Advantage Funeral & Cremation Services on November 10th from 1:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. His funeral will follow on Monday, November 11th, at 12:00 p.m.
