James Edward Wisby Sr.

He enjoyed fishing, hunting, watching boxing, and cheering on the Cincinnati Reds.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Gwendolyn M. Wisby; his parents, Ora and Clara Wisby; his step-daughter, Michelle Burton; his step-son, Steven Hardin and his siblings, Nelley, Leroy, Herbert, Thomas, William, and Betty Wisby.

He is survived by his sons, James E. Wisby Jr., John L. Wisby, Roger D. Wisby, and Charles Wisby; his step-son, Bert Hardin; his grandchildren, Crystal Wisby, Gwenna Wisby, Jeffery Wisby, Thomas Wisby, Shawna Burton, Tara Burton, Joshua Hardin, Joel Hardin, Jay Hardin, and April Hardin; and his great-grandchildren, Matthew, Christopher, Jayden, and Kameron.

Visitation will be held on Sunday, April 26, 2026, from 12:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at Advantage Funeral Home and Cremation Services, 10907 Dixie Highway, Louisville, Kentucky.

A funeral service will take place the following day, Monday, April 27, 2026, from 12:00 p.m. to 1:00 p.m., also at Advantage Funeral Home and Cremation Services.

Burial will follow at Evergreen Cemetery, 4623 Preston Highway, Louisville, Kentucky.
