Richard was an Army veteran of WW II and a member of West Point Post 148 he was the Post Master for West Point KY. Where he retired from.
He was met at the gates of heaven by his wife Judith and his grandson Shaun also parents Charles and Katherine Briggs. Richard has left behind to cherish his memory his three sons Dr. Richard M Briggs (Stephanie), John Briggs (Sandra) and Dr. James Briggs and six grandchildren also five great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be held Sunday October 28, 2018 at advantage funeral home Hardy Chapel 10907 Dixie Hwy. from 2 to 4 P.M. A private burial will be Monday at South Jefferson Cemetery. Please leave memories and condolences for the Briggs family at advantagefunerals.com
