He was a retired electrician for International Harvester and Naval Ordnance, a 68 year member of Local 369 IBEW, and former longtime member of the old Iroquois Presbyterian Church. He was a veteran of both the US Air Force and Marine Corps.
Roger was preceded in death by his wife Mary Josephine Tankersley; a step-daughter Betty Jo Day; and his sisters Anne Bailey and Fonda Donnelley. He is survived by a daughter Angela Tankersley; grandchildren, Geoffrey Tankersley, Pam Eversole, Rick Day, and Lisa Frantz; a sister, Peggy Rowland; several nieces and nephews and other extended family; and his beloved dogs Hoss and Olive.
A graveside service will be held at 1:00 pm Wednesday at Forest Grove Cemetery (Borden, IN). Visitation will be Tuesday 4-8 pm and Wednesday 10am-12pm at Heady-Hardy Funeral Home, 7710 Dixie Hwy.
